What I found interesting was the 2nd video with the older women sitting around watching. What were they saying? Were they offering tips?
I cannot help but notice that this provocative dancing has failed to produce a total breakdown in the social order, wherever it happens to be.
In fact, unable as I am to determine where these videos were taken, I am willing to bet they come from within the top 10% of the economic strata of the Arab world.
Now that coincidence should lead us to a proposition that the entire Middle East should carefully examine: is it possible that the correlation between provocative dancing and economic success is not coincidental, but is actually evidence of a causal relationship?

I find that as I get older, the women who I find attractive are the ones in the 10 year span around my age. Say, from 7 years younger than me, to 3 years older than me. 20 year olds, while they have impressive, gravity-defying physical features, are usually too shallow and unsophisticated to attract me. I don’t mean to knock anyone here who’s 20. I’ve been 20. That’s cool, but just as we 39 year-olds don’t attract you, you all don’t attract us.

Actually experience of grown up people suggests that this not the case. There are any number of groupies even that have gone on to happy and long lives despite hundreds of men. I admit that porn stars seems to have a lot of problems, but then they probably had problems before they became porn stars. Look at Uschi Obermaier.
Young boys often have a problem with their girl friends kissing other boys because they lack confidence, experience and are insecure. They think that their girl will leave them given half a chance. Now Muslim boys, especially those from the Middle East, have a much worse problem – they think if their girls even look at another boy, she’ll be off. With good reason I expect in many cases.
When boys grow up to be men, they have more sense of themselves and more confidence. They are less likely to get stressed if their partner has slept with other men in the past. They may not like it if the numbers are high, but it is no big deal. What matters is what is in her heart and how strong the relationship is now. Does it bother me that my last girl friend always talked positive about her last boyfriend? Not really. Did it bother me that she often compared me in various ways (including, you know, the *bad* ones) unfavorably with him? Well yes but only up to a point. She was and is beautiful and I was lucky to be with her. I miss her still. Think I’ll give her a call and see how she is doing. Not that she’d take me back but I can hope.

I happen to think there is such a thing as chastity and it is a worthy goal. I think girls in the West are not prudent enough. I can’t get enough modesty. But that does not mean I think the value of woman falls to zero just because her hymen has been broken. I don’t think that a woman is a bank account from which men withdraw every time they, well, withdraw. I think that the most important things about a woman have more to do with what is between her ears than between any other parts of her.

You cannot take down the guardrails on a super highway and expect folks won’t run off the road. You advocates of loose sexuality are just fooling yourselves. The human animal is an extremely complex being that has to be nurtured carefully for almost two decades to develop properly. Children need parents who love them and love each other. But now we have a skyrocketing illigitemacy rate and children being raised by their fellow gang members. People don’t stay married. We have ever increasing cases of child abuse and incest/molestation. We have a crime rate that renders huge sections of our cities virtually a no-man’s land.
Look around you young party-people … the world is radically messed up and getting worse. Because you don’t believe in the incontrovertible laws of civilization. Civilization is like a house of cards. Fragile and easily destroyed. Pull out one support and it can all come crashing down. Kinda like we see happening all over the world right now.
I’m not a Taliban. Not even a fundamentalist. But when these sorts look around and see the rampant immorality of young people you can bet it makes them even more bloodthirsty. I am glad you want to continue to bang your head against this wall, but I do not agree with you. People have to be taught what is right and what is wrong. They do not automatically know it, or at least they do not automatically know it all. A fear of snakes and incest seems to be in-built, but a fear of homosexual behaviour is not. I’ve seen women belly dancing who could *easily* make huge sections of some cities no-go areas – belly dancing: pole dancing for Fat Chicks.
As for credit cards, I made that same assumption once and I was corrected. An elderly gentleman present told me that they are aware of wives. You can pay with a credit card and it goes down as something anodyne like “Corporate Entertainment Inc.” so no one knows.

Your point was that morality was the same across cultures. My mistake. I assumed you were making a smarter argument than you were. OK. If all the great civilisations across time and space follow the same morality, and yet it is not inherent but has to be taught, how do they all arrive at the same opinions? Actually I think that certain forms of science do make us wiser. Biology and evolution helps us understand our motives as does, to a limited extent, psychology. Knowing ourselves is the first step to wisdom. So what if I cannot put my cell phone together again. Nor could Socrates. Doesn’t make either of us wise. Magnetism is one of the fundamental forces in physics. IT works at a distance and is a relatively strong force. Nothing was here before the Big Bang because there was no time for anything to be in. Time begins with the BB. I have no idea if God exists. Probably not. Of course there can be a result without a cause. There was no reason o go there except to show off. America did that. Why bother?

Actually a lot of guys really do want to marry a girl whom other men like to ogle.
You said something not far from that – and besides, how else are you going to enforce your new rule on no-belly-dancing? Ask nicely? Notice you are still ignoring the second video which was a girl dancing in front of female relatives. What is wrong with that? I can’t see what is not healthy about a girl enjoying dancing in front of other people. Most people like to look good and they like the admiration that brings them. What they don’t like is the undertone of violence that often brings so Middle Eastern women are often intimidated into hiding. But we all do that to some extent. Maybe not as much as that girl. What is the question of good doing there? What good can come of stopping her?

But that does not mean people have changed. Just that what we accept in public has changed. I don’t think modern American attitudes are healthy or normal, but I have a more relaxed view than you obviously.

This is a litmus test for the guys on this. Imagine having a baby at a USA hospital. You’re flat on your back, your legs spread wide open, and about 15 people (techs, your doctor, doctor assistants, the anesthesiologist, etc.) are looking at and touching your privates. Oh yeah, you’re husband’s at your head cheering you on. And all these guys and gals have masks on (the hospital kind that cover their mouths.) Chastity? Virtue? Squeezing a 7 pound life out of your bottom with an audience of strangers…well…kind of makes the argument for chastity and virtue only something for the uniformed to chit chat about. Go squirt out a baby, or 2, or 3. You will BEG your women, moms, grandmas to dance…out of sheer appreciation for what We go through to keep humanity’s heart a tickin’!

The bastard obstetric Anesthesiologist (sorry bj) you will have to feel the contractions to push. Baby sunny side up and you have to wait!!!!
If Scott ever felt the pain he will wish to drink Epidural with BJ to get high.
If Scott ever had a back to back pregnancies with the same scenario where he is hospitalized for 20 weeks out of the 38 weeks of pregnancy. He will apologize to every woman he meets.
Even the women who stay home and feed kids and make dinner work so hard but what can I say?. What does he know about women anyway! he was never raised to respect of value women.

I know you’re joking. But the truth is that my practice is probably around 20% Arab and/or Muslim. And so far, so good.
If anything, I try just a little bit harder for these patients, because I feel they probably come with some preconceived notions about Jews, and the last thing I want to do is confirm them. I know you yourself don’t have any such preconceived notions, but my Arab and Muslim friends report back to me.

You’re right about natural dentistry. I don’t know why, but there’s something about childbirth that makes everybody feel like they have a vested interest. Strangers judge you by how you deliver, where you deliver, when you deliver. But no one really cares about your colonoscopy or your root canal. It’s weird. I chalk it partly up to mysogyny, but I think there’s more to it than that.

Heh BJ — I stand corrected as you wrote. The OBA dude did only touch my back — and it was a touch of LOVIN’ RELIEF when he got the kill-pain going. I asked him to stick around in case I needed a top-off. But everyone else in that room was hanging in my end zone. Also, I heard a somwhat familiar voice (not my doctor’s) from one of the masked aides down there. “Heh! You’re in my gym class!” Like what am I to say, spread eagle 6 inches from her face trying to pop out a baby? I say, “Oh heh. How ya doin’? Is THIS what you do for a living? Uh, can ya make sure it’s repaired like new, better than new, will ya?” The funny part (BJ you’ll like this) is when they say, “lift your legs, push!” After an epidural, YOU CAN”T FEEL YOUR LEGS!!! They could chop them off and you’d still be thinking about ice cream. That’s where the crowd comes in handy: enlist them to lift your legs! In any case, life is hard so let’s dance. Let’s encourage children to dance. Let’s encourage old people to dance. Let’s enjoy and learn from other cultures’ dance. Don’t you wish we could turn all this political unrest into a big dance contest? And the loser wouldn’t really lose but be forced to compromise and settle, with mediation handled by a 3 nation lottery like Iceland, Fiji and Chile. Then we all choose a destination and have a big peace dance and hug and kiss and eat til the cows come home.
