  1. He kicked Al Gore’s ass pretty good in 2000 as well. I’m not sure what happened to him the last few years but he’s gone down hill a lot, and not just in his public speaking.

  2. there are a lot fewer issues to deal with as Governer. He just doesn’t have the brain power to wrap his mind around everything a president needs to know.

  3. Right AB,

And what was your GPA at Yale?

What was your ranking in the US Armed forces when you flew fighter jets for them?

During your tenure as Governer of, now what state was that? The state of denial.? You accomplished? Nada.

Don’t be as ignorant as Katie Couric or Cindy Sheenan, your a fool if you think Pesident Bush has a low I.Q.. He doesn’t posses the best speaking skills and he doesn’t lie as well as the Clintons but unintelligent he is not.

But he has personality. Who needs intelligence when you have personality.

  5. But he has personality. Who needs intelligence when you have personality.

And skills, skills like bow hunting and computer hacking…. and he has a sweet bike…..

  6. What happened to him? It’s called getting older. Things don’t come to you as quickly as they did before. Give it another 25-35 years and you’ll know what I mean. In addittion, he has one of the most stressful jobs on earth. Look at any president when they enter office and when they leave. They have really aged, all of them.

  7. Most of you are way too young to remember what the media did to President Regan and how they villified him. He was stupid, arrogant, and dangerous. Also very very effective. These people who trash the man are only playing high school games and the game the media tells them to play. Like good little parrots that never ever have to think for themselves. History will judge what this period is and they will forget all about the losers who said the same things about Regan and were sorely as wrong then as they are now. No one remembers them but they do remember Regan. History repeates itself over and over.

  8. As a teen in the 80’s, I hated Reagan until I grew up, got a job, and started paying taxes. Well, I loved his foreign policy, except when he decided to do something between 2:30 and 5pm, because my mom would lose her cool when the news broke into her soaps.

  9. Let’s be fair here. Kerry, Gore, and Bush were all crappy students who got into Ivy League skools as the kidz of really rich and connected guv’mint guys — Kerry’s was a senior diplomat, Gore’s was a racist senator, and Bush’s was in Congress and CIA director. OTOH, Reagan legitimately earned his college degree as a lower middle class kid and compiled a remarkable philosophical record. Bush is an average guy, and Kerry and Gore are useless blowhards.

  10. Yeah, but Gore invented the internet.

As low as GWB’s index was at Yale, Kerry’s was evidently lower, or so I’m told.

    annamouse,

I remember well. I, on the other hand, thought he was so cool that I feigned illness while in school so I could go home and watch his inauguration on TV. And I remember the day he was shot like it was last week.

  11. Well, it is interesting. I’m a little skeptical, though. You can pick his most eloquent statements from ten years ago, and his least cognizant recent statements to make a point.
I also tend to agree with Puniqe. I think he feels the pressure more now.

But, damn. I wish he could say nuclear. I know nucular is a regional colloquialism, and not a sign of stupidity, but it just sounds bad.

  12. I voted for him twice. I am as conservative as possible without being an actual fascist but it’s a struggle these days with all the idiots running free and trying to turn the US into Eurabia.

GWB is a failure in just about every way one can fail as POTUS. He has abjectly lied on every major issue that matters. He ran against Clinton’s ‘nation building’ and then turns around and tries to build a new Iraq in the middle of Central Jihady-land. He signed the campaing finance reform bill … otherwise known as the incumbant protection program. He made sure that old folks get free drugs … paid for by all us regular middle class workers … WHEN MOST OF THE OLE FOLKS ARE SITTING ON A PILE OF MONEY. I could go on and on and on.

GWB is a FOOL. He is living proof that some secret cabal or committee is running this country. No one man could be that stupid.

Don’t bother to cite the health of the economy to me either. GWB had nothing to do with it.

  13. “I voted for him twice. ”

Hmmm and based on your long analysis of him being a fool, failure etc… may I ask why did you vote for him TWICE scott? because you think that if you don’t America will turn into Eurabia?

*banging my head against the wall*

  14. I’ll always admit that that I can be wrong, but in my humble opinion:

    Scott, you are misrepresenting yourself.

    Twosret, lighten up.

Modern Pharoah, just admit you’re just a playa, and people like me are not welcome in your sphere.

If these remarks offend anyone, I plead innocence on the grounds of alcohol consumption.

  15. Dear twosret,

Though I despised his father and predicted that the son would be even worse .. in 2000 my alternative was to vote for an America-hating gigalo with French ancestry. Do I have to elaborate?

George Bush senior betrayed the Reagan Revolution Junior cannot spell c-o-n-s-e-r-v-a-t-i-v-e.

Can’t wait for 2008. What a wonderful rainbow of choices we have in this one. Bend over and kiss your asses goodbye Ameria. We deserve it.

  16. Brian,

Where did I address you above? don’t know what you mean by lighten up. I’m not serious or upset, I’m just asking Scott a logical question. Don’t you think?

  17. Scott,

Americans said enough to Bush and you just have to live with it my dear 🙂 and guess what? America is for all with French, Greek, British and Arab ancestry.

    Tough luck!

  18. Two,

“Where did I address you above? ”

You interjected yourself into an exchange between Brian and Scott. If you can address them – and you can – then they can address you.

I suspect that by “lighten up” he means that you shouldn’t bang your head against the wall, whether literally or figuratively.

  19. nomad,

Actually, Kerry has a mixed French-Jewish ancestry. His grandparents name was Cohen. They concluded that their children would fare better in predominantly Irish Catholic Boston if they switched religions, and changed their name to an Irish-sounding one.

None of that has anything to do with the fact that he is a gigalo, which he is. He married for money twice, which is pretty much the essence of gigalo-hood.

BTW, Nomad, and off topic, thank you very much.

    bj

  20. BrooklynJon Says:”None of that has anything to do with the fact that he is a gigalo, which he is. He married for money twice, which is pretty much the essence of gigalo-hood.”

I just don’t get this. Surely 36 billion buys you a much better class of gigalo.

Unless the guy is hung like a donkey of course.

  21. Unless the guy is hung like a donkey of course.

should that be a compliment to his french origin ?

BJon, I read about his jewish origins, he is also a cousin of an ex green presidential candidate here, Brice Lalonde, ex mayor of Dinard, a Brittany english style sea-side resort. I had the chance to meet him fortuitly once : a handsome looking man, plus, very charming 😆

  22. Nomad,

If Mr. Lalonde shared certain other attributes that we assume Mr. Kerry has, perhaps you should have gotten to know him better 🙂

“should that be a compliment to his french origin ?”

It sure isn’t the Cohen in him!

  23. What happened to Bush is a symptom called “Inside the Beltway” – itis. When you’re running for local and state offices, you have to appear smart because the locals are near. When you get to the haven of DC, you have to dumb down to reach the masses. What I would note to all non-US readers is this: you mainly see our Washington DC morons. What do you really think of the Bush tape 10 years ago? Vibrant? Cocky? A fighter? This, my friends, is how the “rest” of us are. You think the Washington flatheads run this country? They’re crooks. It’s all of the rest of US that keep the heart and machine in this country pumping. I like this clip. It’s a great example of what happens to a person after a few years in DC. It’s also obviously a political swipe, by the opposing party, to make him look bad. Geez. Don’t we all know this ploy by now? He’s in ’til 2008…might as well get used to it! Wonder what political pardons he’s going to give (like Clinton did) right before exiting the seat?

  24. Teresa is a drunk incase you didn’t notice her apparent foot and mouth problem during the campaign. Her “cure” for arthritis pain is gin soaked raisins. And no, I don’t really want to tell you how I know(it wasn’t me BTW I don’t stoop that low!) but there is no donkey in the pants. Haven’t you ever noticed how the man can wax a tale witout ever really saying anything? That is how he lands heiresses.

  25. Well, for those of you who were pro-Bush, good for you! For all you who were mercilessly bashing him, get over yourselves. He’s president of the USA, how good would you sound up there? Don’t be so quick to judge.

  26. Please scroll up and read Naomi’s 2:23 epistle again. Dead on. I’ve heard that GWB is nervous with a big audience. By contrast, he can be quite lucid and relaxed in a more private setting– only a few days ago I heard a radio interview wih him by “Juan” somebody and it was actually not painful to listen to him. This video makes a point but it is also carefully constructed. By a number of criteria GW is no conservative (e.g. Federal spending) and it is nice to hear from a few who appreciate Reagan, who suffered even more derision from the Left while in office.

  27. Bill Sammon’s book “Misunderestimated”? Anyone here read it? I hear it’s a great look into the person of G.W. Bush. Although leftists and Bush opponents may not like Sammon’s perspective.

Brian the Sailor, I wish he’d stop mispronouncing “nuclear” too. There’s really no excuse for it. Even Laura has tried to get him to stop! But really, at this point he might think it would be almost silly to change.

  28. Damn!
Myspace (spit) had a new friend invitation for me. It was vaporized.
Sorry SM to use up your space for this, but this was the most recent site I commented on. I don’t want someone to think I’m an asshole who doesn’t reply.
If any of you logged on to my pathetic page, please do so again and maybe this time it’ll come through.

SM, you made me add Cairo to my must visit list!

  29. shehrezad,
You’ve got a point. If he said it correctly now, it would look silly.
It would be like, “I’ve been wrong until now, but I’ve corrected my ways.”
Not a good position for a President.

Just keep saying it the way you say it.

  30. I like the way he says nuclear. “Nuke You ler.” Spelled out…kind of makes him the man not to piss off too badly, eh? The bottom line is this though. I can sit here and write anything about the President without fear for my life (unless I threaten his life). I wish the ME public enjoyed this same freedom today. Maybe one day, hopefully soon. The body counts on all sides are growing too large …

  31. Jimmy Carter pronounced “nuclear” wrong as well. Yet the left managed to get all frothy about how smart ol’ Jimmah was. And he a humble peanut farmer, too.
Fact is, Jimmy was a pretty intelligent guy, nucular or no nucular. Of course, that didn’t keep him from having as failed a presidency as these eyes have seen.

  32. I was almost afraid to read these comments. Truthfully, I am sick of the Bush bashing.
I voted for the man and I am disappointed in some of his decisions.
The immigration mess comes to mind first.
On his speaking, I must say, being from Texas myself, it comes out the same way Bush says it.
    nucular.
I can spell it just fine, but verbally, it doesn’t come out any other way.
I do agree with the stage fright thing. I cannot imagine getting up in front of people who are hoping for any mispronunciation, raising of the eyebrow, any hint of derision. President Bush has dealt with a great deal of tragedy (catastrophic hurricanes, 9-11, etc) in this presidency. I do not envy his position.

nice ex-Jewish boy, I too voted differently, before I became a responsible adult and actually became part of the taxpaying base. I started paying more and more attention to politics after I graduated from college.
I sorely miss Reagan! Great man.

We will have to wait on the Bush verdict.

    naomi: amen!
