My comments section seems to be greatly messed up!

For weeks now I have been getting e-mails from people whose comments get eaten, or dissappear, or mysteriously re-appear after a day or two. And now I am seeing it myself, with almost 10 new comments on the post below that are showing in the comments section in my dashboard but not in the comment section of the post. It's all messed up.

So, dear commenters, I am really sorry. I am working on it, but I have no diea why it's acting this crazy. Once I find out I will let you know!

  1. To delay transmission in order to track it? Well, I suppose just in case one needs to read it more than once or copy it by hand.

Let’s post each comment at least twice. One for direct submission, one for Egyptian security apparatus.

  2. Two possibilities. One is that your blog is being cached somewhere along the way so that we aren’t seeing the version that’s on your server, we’re seeing a cache. Or two, you’re using one of the big blogging companies to host your comments and they have a queue (or a cache) that’s getting delayed in their system.

But here’s nothing in a locally hosted blog, like the (local) wordpress installation I use that could cause a delay. In that case posts go straight into the Mysql database and by the definition of how SQL works, must show up immediately.

If you’re using a system like mine, then caching is the only possibility. And if the posts are showing up on your dashboard but not on the site, I’d bet on a cache problem.

  3. Fucking monkey, you can’t even handle a blog you mother fucking ape!
And nomad, someone should fuck your ass in the jungle, too!

Fucking idiots! You’re turning the net into crap!
Political experts my ass! Write your disgusting ideas on the wall of the strip club you hang out!

    Disgusting morons!

  4. Wow, arkaas! Did your medication get delayed? Relax dude. Nomad did not mean your memory has problem. Although, I do not think it would be far off.

  5. During your temporary absence, and in the faint hope that my comment will actually get past the grrr factor:

    Newsflash.

In Minnesota, site of the celebrated taxi dispute where somali muslim cabbies refused to accept passengers carrying alcohol or accompanied by dogs:

The somali muslim cashiers are Target stores are now refusing to accept bacon at the registers.

    It’s a funny old world, ain’t it.

  6. nomad,

libertarian actually. In America, that is usually associated more with the right wing than with the left. At least that portion of the right wing that couldn’t care less what you do in your own house or in your doctor’s office.

  8. Yup… if you’re using a system like mine, then caching is the only possibility. And if the posts are showing up on your dashboard but not on the site, I’d bet on a cache problem… 🙂
